Welcome to the Institute of Agricultural Engineering
The Institute of Agricultural Engineering is part of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bonn and is involved in teaching and research in agricultural engineering in the field of crop production/robotics and animal husbandry technology. The focus is on image processing in plant robotics and the development of techniques to improve nutrient availability in the soil. Animal husbandry technology deals with digital assistance systems, animal welfare-optimised husbandry conditions and emission reduction for environmentally compatible and climate-friendly livestock farming.

Agro-robotics
Work in robotics and computer vision that enables robots and autonomous systems to "see" so they can work in challenging agricultural environments! Important research areas are agricultural robotics and autonomous systems, as well as scalable classification and learning approaches.

The scientific workshop
The workshop of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering is originally a classical precision mechanics workshop, whose areas of activity have since expanded considerably. The term "scientific" is intended to emphasise that it is primarily apparatus for science that is built here.
The Association is composed of two bodies, the Board and the General Assembly. The Board meets twice a year and discusses motions submitted by the members. Based on its resolutions, the Board of Directors shall, in close consultation...
