Research areas

Prof. Dr Büscher works as a teacher and researcher in the field of animal husbandry technology with a focus on "animal welfare", "environmental impact" and "feeding technology". Before studying agricultural sciences, he completed an apprenticeship as a farmer in Emsland. After his studies, he completed his doctorate at the University of Bonn with the title "Air flow in livestock housing systems". This was followed by a period as an assistant with his habilitation on the topic of "Ammonia emissions from animal houses" at the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart). He took on his first professorship in 1996 at the University of Halle. In 2002, he returned to the University of Bonn and took over his current position.
