Development and testing of a farm management system for automation of operational processes using building referenced space-time data on the example of the milk production

Project description

With the development of new procedures to the indoor location of animals, tools and actors in stall systems new dimensions of the individual data processing and information extraction for animals through the consideration of building referenced space-time data open up.

The three-year project „Space Data Milking“ aims to develop a farm management system for decision support and automation of business processes using individualized, building referenced space-time data at the example of milk production in the context of industrial research. The large number of resulting process data during the production is combined with the master data of the dairy cows and the individual animal space-time coordinates. From these data, behavioral characteristics and animal physiological conditions can be derived, which can be used for digital animal observation and health monitoring by the farmer. Additionally, the systems serves as navigation support to systematically find animals in the barn and to quickly react on critic points at the right spot.
