About the Institute

The Institute of Agricultural Engineering comprises three chairs: Agricultural Engineering and Robotics, Livestock Technology and Household Technology. All three chairs pursue specific research objectives, which are handled with similar methods and similar instrumentation. Unifying research objectives are technical and procedural developments, which are able to facilitate work in crop and livestock farming and housework. In general, technical developments in all processes are oriented to the needs and abilities of the people. Thereby environmental loads are to be reduced and plants as well as animals are to be fed and treated according to their needs. With the help of electronics, actual conditions are recorded and appropriate actions can be initiated via control techniques. In addition to the use of modern communication systems, resource savings (labour, energy and other valuable resources) in all kinds of technical processes are pursued.
